How Blueground handles listing descriptions, photos, titles, and addresses

J1. Why Blueground uses AI-generated listing descriptions

Blueground uses AI to generate standardized listing descriptions across the platform. This ensures listings are presented consistently and clearly to guests, improving readability and booking conversion.

What partners should know

  • AI descriptions replace PMS descriptions
  • Descriptions are optimized for Blueground's global audience
  • Tone of voice and structure are consistent across all listings
  • AI selects essential information while removing irrelevant or repetitive content

Can I edit the description manually?

No, manual editing is not supported.

If something is factually incorrect

Please email partner-onboarding@theblueground.com

Include:

  • Listing ID
  • Description issue
  • Correct information to display

Our team will adjust the description accordingly.

J2. Why some listing photos are hidden or missing

Blueground uses automated tools to ensure photos meet quality standards. Images may be hidden if:

  • They are blurry or low resolution
  • They contain watermarks or branding
  • They are duplicates or near-duplicates
  • They include clutter, messy spaces, or irrelevant content

How to fix photo issues

  • Update photo sets in your PMS
  • Upload high-quality, well-lit images showing the full space
  • Avoid watermarks, text overlays, and logos

Once your PMS is updated, Blueground will re-sync photos.

J3. Why the title of your listing is different on Blueground

Blueground uses a standardized naming convention based on:

  • Street name
  • Building name (where applicable)

This ensures listings are easy for guests to understand and compare.

If the title shows inaccurate information

Check your PMS first. If the address and the coordinates on the map are correct there but incorrect on Blueground, login to our portal and make sure that the listing's address is correct. If the listings address is not in the correct location on the map feel free to adjust it accordingly.

J4. How Blueground manages listing addresses & map pins

Accurate addresses help guests understand exactly where they will stay.

For PMS-integrated listings

  • Blueground receives the address and coordinates directly from your PMS
  • Google geocoding uses the coordinates to display the location
  • If coordinates or address fields are incorrect in your PMS, they must be updated there
  • If it's not possible to update the listing's coordinates directly on your PMS or your listings are not connected via a PMS please verify and correct the addresses within our Partner Portal.
  1. Log in to the portal
  2. Go to Listings
  3. Click the edit option
  4. Adjust the map pin

If the address still appears incorrectly email partner-onboarding@theblueground.com.

J5. Why some listings are published but not visible in search results

Listings may be published and bookable but still not appear in search results. This is expected behavior.

How Blueground's search ranking works

The algorithm favors listings based on:

  • Competitive pricing
  • Availability for searched dates
  • Quality of content (photos, description completeness)
  • Geographic relevance
  • Performance of similar units in the area

Similarity rule

If multiple identical units exist in the same building, Blueground will not show them all at once.
Listings rotate based on availability and performance.

How to check if a listing is published

  1. Go to the Partner Portal
  2. Click the (…) icon
  3. Select Blueground URL
  4. The listing page will open (if published)
